About Me

My new flash fiction collection, This Alone Could Save Us, was published in July 2020 by Ad Hoc Fiction. My flash fiction pamphlet, There’s Something Macrocosmic About All of This, was published by V-Press in 2018, and my debut mini-collection of flash fiction, Dots and other flashes of perception, was published by The Nottingham Review Press in 2016.

I was a Co-Director of National Flash Fiction Day in the UK and volunteered with them for 6 years. I’m a part of the founding team who organise the annual Flash Fiction Literary Festival, a literary festival dedicated solely to flash fiction. I’m also formerly a Fiction Editor and Consulting Editor at New Flash Fiction Review. I have also judged various flash fiction competitions, including the Bath Flash Fiction Award, and delivered many talks and lectures at events and universities about flash fiction.

My work has been published widely in print and online, including in the Best Small Fictions 2019 and Best Microfiction 2020 anthologies. I have been long listed, shortlisted, and won various prizes, as well as received nominations for other awards such as the Best of the Net, the Best British and Irish Flash Fiction, the Best Microfiction anthology, and the Pushcart Prize.

As well as an editor and writer of fiction and prose poetry, I’ve been a book reviewer of flash fiction collections. My reviews have appeared in Flash: The International Short-Short Story MagazineSmokeLong Quarterly, and Bath Flash Fiction Award.

In 2018 I graduated from the University of Bristol with an MA in English Literature, and in 2016 I graduated from Bath Spa University with a first class BA in English Literature with Creative Writing. My main areas of interest other than flash fiction and short stories include Modernism, Contemporary Literature, and the Digital Humanities. I currently work for an academic digital publisher of primary resources.

I love running writing workshops, presenting talks, and reading at events, so please feel free to contact me, to ask about me coming to your event – whether that be online or in person – or if you have any questions! I am based in Wiltshire but happy to travel.
